Designed For: Fire prevention personnel, fire inspectors, and fire department support staff
Description: Hazardous Materials notification and reporting requirements for Fire Department personnel
who may witness or discover a Hazardous Materials Leak, spill, or discharge. Meets the requirements of
CFR 29 1910.120 and CCR Title 8.

Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational (FRO):
Designed For: Fire department personnel who may respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous
materials as part of the initial response to the site for the purpose of protecting nearby persons,
property, or the environment from the effects of the release.
Description: Defensive tactics to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading,
and prevent exposures without trying to stop the release. Meets and exceeds the requirements of
CFR 29 1910.120 and CCR Title 8.

Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational, Decontamination:
Designed For: Hazardous material emergency response personnel
Description: This course will provide the haz mat emergency responder with the processes used in
decontamination and methods to limit the spread of hazardous materials contamination in a safe and
competent manner.
Prerequisites: OSFM recognized/approved Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational Level
